Although
there is a lot of deliberation going on concerning restoration
of art work, everybody does agree about the importance of being
able to turn back what is done. Restorations must -if possible-
be carried out in such a way, that they can be modified in the
future without damage to the art work.
All used material will
therefore be chosen accordingly.
Restoration of art
objects is a profession with an ever increasing scientific basis.
A lot of research is done into causes of decline, new techniques
and materials are developed to slow down decline.
We (cooperating restorers) do
always keep an eye on the latest developments in our field, and
of course apply these wherever possible.
Cooperation exists with
material purchase, use of equipment, consultation concerning
techniques etc. Also there are the services of valuation, an art
historian, photographer and chemist.
